The Archivist

​Each night at 2:44 a.m., the stars send Gemma an unfamiliar memory. A child’s cry from within a war-torn home, a goodbye kiss before a gruesome shipwreck. 
She catalogs each memory in glass jars labeled “Unknown Delight” and “Borrowed Pain.” Each jar whispers the tales of lives that have gone unlived.
One night, an unusual memory arrives: Her own death. Flashes of a quiet hospital, no visitors. 
Gemma grabs an unmarked jar, seals it quickly, and places it on the top shelf. 
Then, for the first time, she leaves her door unlocked – hoping someone else might remember her.
