Interview with Eros Livieratos

Eros Livieratos

Said last week that Mike Callaghan's work fit seamlessly with the words of Eros Livieratos and gave NUNUM's Fall 2019 Issue an opening slice of perfection with 'Suburbs' so here it only feels right to say that Eros's words slipped right into the imagery of Mike's work and banged out an amazing opening for the Fall 2019 issue.
Eros now that I have you here I have to thank you again for submitting 'Suburbs' to us, seriously we were screaming to have something like that pop up in our submittable. No doubt our readers echo that a hundred fold and speaking of reading, I'm curious, what was the first book you remember picking and reading by yourself?

I'm pretty sure I learned how to read with Clamp's Angelic Layer.

Never heard of it, but thanks for that I'll put it on the list. So let's get more recent, what was the last book you read that made you say damn that was a good book?

Edouard Leve's Suicide has been stuck in my head since I read it. Julia Johnson's The Number of Spacetime Dimensions in Bosonic String Theory too.

Pen, pencil or phone which one do you reach for when you need to write something down?

Pen.

A man after my own heart, what advice would you give someone who is just starting to send their work out to journals?

Keep trying! Don't take the rejection personally. Understanding aesthetic preference and fit matters—the quality of your work isn't always the key factor in being accepted. Keep writing, keep editing.

Eros Livieratos studied philosophy and creative writing at William Paterson University. Eros’ writing tackles topics of race, sexuality, capitalism, aesthetics, and technology. Eros plays in noise bands in New Jersey and can often be found yelling about aesthetics & automation in your local basement. And as of now is a Pushcart nominated writer.
