In a Thrift Store (2025) is an abstract expressionist piece depicting the contents of a thrift store whose shelves are lined with indecipherable objects. Uneven stairs rise and descend from what’s left of a tattered, crimson carpet. Piles of refuse linger on the floor, some spaced out and some in a tired heap. A thought bubble dangles like a once-beloved chandelier now discarded. This piece explores the symbols and images that collect cobwebs in the recesses of our minds--the mental clutter we give away as an act of charity. What would it look like if we displayed our moth-eaten desires on a shelf? What’s the price tag you put on what you once loved but have now outgrown?
