Safety Lesson

She said, you sold my bike.
You said you didn’t want to ride it anymore.
That didn’t mean I wanted to sell it; I love that bike.
More than you love me?
Not as much as I love it, she said, picking up the wrench.
You’re an idiot, she said, smacking him with the wrench.
It was supposed to be a love tap to remind him not to do anything without checking with her first.
She was surprised at the force of the blow.
After the stitches, he thought he should wear a bike helmet whenever she approached.
