Blending Flash Fiction & Art

Interview with Edward Voeller

Picture
Edward Voeller lent us his gem of a story The Periodicals Room for our first issue of 2022 and wow ... just wow ... what a way to start the year.

By now you know exactly how this starts so all together now, what was the first book that you sat down and read all by yourself?

Interview with Autumn Bettinger

Autumn before we get into this, I have to say thank you for letting us share 'Sea Creature' with our readers. It was simply a wonderful story and absolutely the perfect way for NUNUM to roll in Volume 5.

Now, do you remember the first book that you sat down and read by yourself?

Blending Flash Fiction & Art

Interview with Max King Cap

Max before we get started, thank you so much for Breadbasket. This might be the wrong way to say it because of the image, but that cover pulled the whole issue together perfectly. But, let's get to it, what was the first book you remember picking and reading by yourself?

Where the Wild Things Are.

That one is turning out to be much more popular than I'd expected. How about more recently, what was the last book you read that made you say damn that was a good book?

Interview with Meghan Rose Allen

Meghan thank you so for letting NUNUM include your story Breathe in our Winter 2021 issue, for us it was a must have. But now that we have you here, let's get to it. What was the first book you remember picking and reading by yourself?

A book about slugs. It wasn't deep or meaningful, but a counting book.  I loved that book on slugs from the library.  Also, my day job is teaching mathematics, which sometimes involves counting. Coincidence?

Blending Flash Fiction & Art

Interview with Birgit Wildt

Picture
Birgit, with so many different forms available to a writer today I am curious to know why you choose to write flash fiction?

I was inspired by Walter Benjamin’s (1999) ’The Arcades Project', the brevity of form reaches out for brief encounters, for snippets of interference and disruptive episodes. Flashes, like rough sketches, allow open-ended arguments and unfinished thoughts to emerge which, adopting Eco’s concept of ‘open’ work, allow for more than just one voice or reading.

Interesting, thank you for that Birgit.
