Interview with Georgia White

Georgia White is a student at Bryn Mawr College majoring in psychology and creative writing. Her work has previously been published in and performed at the Santa Ana River Review, the Nasiona, and the Eugene O’Neill Theater Center. She takes inspiration from Sofia Samatar, Lemony Snicket, Kurt Vonnegut, and any creative writing teacher she’s ever had.

Georgia was kind enough to sit down for a minute with us and you know what we asked her ...

Georgia, what was the last book you read that made you think wow that was a damn good book?

The last excellent book (or rather, series of books) I read was The Raven Cycle by Maggie Stiefvater—some of the most original fantasy I’ve read in years.

A new one for me, thank you, a few more for the reading list. What about on vacation, who are your go-to writers?

My go-to writer for vacations has to be Stephen King. I’m not always a horror fan, but nobody does it like he does.

Steve King, always good on summer nights. What about your own writing Georgia, who has influenced you so far in your development?

Probably the writer who’s most influenced my writing style is Lemony Snicket. I’ve read A Series of Unfortunate Events cover to cover at least three times, and he’s one of those authors who sticks around in your head long after you close the book.
