Mantrana is new artist for all of us here and we are so happy to be able to introduce her work to our readers. 

Recently we were lucky enough to steal a little of Mantrana's time and yes you know what asked her to get things going.

Mantrana it has become a bit of a habit for me but I love knowing the first book people remember reading, do you by chance remember what book it was for you?

Oh wow! I have no clue at all. It probably was 365 stories and poems for girls but more recently it was this book entitled "The Ramayan Vs. The Mahabharat" by Devdutt Pattnaik.​

What was the last book you read that made you say damn that was a good book?

It has to be every single one of them but one of them which really changed me was "To Kill a Mockingbird."

I'm sure you aren't alone in that. Pen, pencil or phone, which one do you reach for when you need to write something down?

My laptop :) But it depends where I am at that point of time. If I'm not at home it's any stationary I can get my hands on. 

Ah napkins, I can totally relate. Let's talk about writers for a bit, who are you go-to writers when you need something to read on holiday?

I don't really have any because I borrow books from kindle unlimited right before we go and take my time to analyse new stories during the holidays.

A very contemporary answer, and speaking of these days, do you have any contemporary artists you admire?

What about around you there, is there an artist in your local community that you would recommend people check out?

Everyone! They are all beautiful talented people!

Well said, what about influences, which artists have influenced your current artistic direction?

There is no artist in particular but I am deeply influenced by anything related to breaches in the law and especially social issues which are not in the spotlight that much. I'm deeply inspired by Angel Ganev and his powerful sketches.

What advice would you give someone who is just starting to send their work out to journals?

​Work hard and you'll get there, nothing stays incomplete forever. If you get rejected don't feel that you aren't enough. Trust me rejections allows you to explore your art and develop your own unique style so always be prepared to embark on that 'road not taken'.
